making it "real life"
Hello. Happy to find this blog.
This post likely bridges from the Mindset Discussion Forum to the Testimonies.
It is a fascinating theory that I have seen turn around students' lives in the classroom when caring educators have put it to use. However, how would one break out Dwek's theory on mindsets for adult rejuvination and development? It is easily broken down into ways to structure pedegogy (particularly assessment)... and parenting... but what are the PRACTICAL ways an adult can practice the growth mindset to see transformation on any level?

I use it all the time in my adult life - I am not involved in education at all except as a parent.
One quick point that springs to mind; at work, I like to seed any business meeting with lots of growth-mindset phrases early on; "hey, we've never seen a problem like this before; let's face it we might make some mistakes as we learn how to cope with this." or "well, that's been tricky, but I think its taught us a lot" or "I think we should recognise that we are much better at this than we were a year ago"
